This book includes complete instructions on sock and stocking knitting as well as a remarkable selection of the heel and toe constructions used in traditional Estonian knitting. Over 200 woolen, linen and cotton stocking, sock and leg warmer designs offer inspiration for both traditional knitting and the creation of new sock patterns. In front of you is the updated and revised edition of this book. We've added an overview of some of the very old socks that were found during the salvage excavation of a late Medieval landfill in Tallinn after the first edition of this book was published. Also, some of the information about the place of origin and the names of knitters has been revised with the help of historical maps, church records, toponymical research, genealogical research and information from local people.
